On the evening of September 19, MYL Canada opened the doors of Jamia Al Mustafa for Burdah Night 2026, a gathering devoted to the praise of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The prayer hall filled early, and by the time the first verses of the Burdah rose, families, students and elders were sitting shoulder to shoulder on the carpet.

We were honoured to host Qari Safar Al Madani, whose recitation set the tone for the night, and Shaykh Dr. Abdullah al-Qadri, who delivered the keynote on love for the Prophet ﷺ and what that love asks of us in daily life. Allama Ahmed Awan, Director of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Canada, also joined and addressed the gathering.

Minhaj al-Munshidin Canada, led by our own Brother Abdullah Sheikh, carried the evening with the Qasida Burdah and other praises of the Prophet ﷺ. The night closed with salam, du’a and food shared together in the hall.

Jazakum Allahu khayran to everyone who came, and to the volunteers who set up, served and stayed late to clean up. May Allah ﷻ accept the gathering and increase the love of His Messenger ﷺ in our hearts.
