For three days in Ramadan, young brothers aged 14 and up gathered at the Mississauga Muslim Community Centre for MYL’s annual Youth I’tikaf. The aim was to disconnect from distractions and reconnect with Allah, together.

Nights began with Tahajjud and Qiyam al-Layl led by youth Qaris. Days were shaped by Qur’an recitation, halaqas and reflection circles led by Shaykh Dr. Abdullah al-Qadri, and special sessions from UK guest speaker Shaykh Muhammad Sadiq Qureshi, Brother Muzzammil and Brother Ali.

Brother Abdullah Sheikh led uplifting dhikr and na’at sessions, and the programme was balanced with discussion circles, Q&A and team-building. Shared suhoor and iftar turned a group of participants into a brotherhood by the end of the weekend.
