Vancouver chapter: feeding neighbours on East Hastings
MYL Vancouver took hot food to people on the Downtown Eastside, twice, because faith asks us not to look away from hunger.

Before Ramadan 2025, the Vancouver chapter of MYL Canada organized a food drive, made possible by volunteers and generous local donors, to bring warm meals and support to people in need.
They went back out in February 2026, ahead of Ramadan. On East Hastings, the team handed out pizza, fries and chicken to brothers and sisters living on the street. More than $400 of food was gone in under thirty minutes, a quiet measure of how real the need is in one of the most beautiful cities in the country.
The Prophet ﷺ taught that a person whose stomach is full while his neighbour goes hungry has not truly believed. Ramadan is more than fasting; it is mercy put into action. Thank you to the food sponsors, Henzo’s and Kwantlen Catering, and to every volunteer who showed up.
